Drivers of Success Competition Extended until July 15th, 2011

 

The deadline for Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis University 2011 Drivers of Success Competition submissions is now July 15th, 2011, allowing you additional time to submit your CADWorx, CAESAR II^®, and PV Elite^® success stories.

 

We will award three first place prizes, with one each for CADWorx, CAESAR II and PV Elite user submissions. These three first place winners will receive a complimentary round trip to the CADWorx & Analysis University 2011 event on September 19-21 in Houston, Texas, including airfare, hotel accommodations, and conference fees.

 

Two runners up for each of the three product groups will receive an Apple^® iPod^® Touch. The competition highlights users submitting success stories about innovative applications of the products, impressive project results, and significant benefits from collaboration among disciplines and the integration of the products.

 

CADWorx & Analysis University 2011 is a global user-oriented plant design and engineering conference with 55+ sessions, including demonstrations, user presentations, and interactive labs on CADWorx Plant Design Suite; CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis; and PV Elite for vessel and exchanger analysis. Attendees will gain valuable skills and knowledge for improving productivities of their organizations.

This first meeting is an important step in developing a Midwest Chapter of SPED.  Founded in 1980, SPED was created to benefit Pipers through training, professional development and certification therefore, “Promoting Excellence and Quality in Piping Design”.  SPED’s home office is in Houston, Texas with worldwide membership, a chapter in Calgary, and membership initiatives in the U.K., Ireland and Spain.

CADWorx University 2010 - It's a Wrap

 
   

Intergraph CADWorx® & Analysis Solutions would like to thank each and every one of you that attended this year's 2010 CADWorx University, September 27-29, 2010, held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

The conference was well attended with 225 attendees representing over 90 companies(Including Autodesk:-) from around the globe. Attendees had access to over 45 classes taught by 18 industry experts. We also had great sponsors that displayed the added value they deliver users of the CADWorx Plant Design Suite. Also in attendance were this year's Drivers of Success competition winners; KBR, Russia; Fichtner Consulting, India; and Mech-Tech Projects, India.

The keynote was delivered in two parts, the first part by Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president, Intergraph Process Power & Marine (Intergraph PPM). During Patrick's talk he outlined Intergraph's rational and future plans for CADWorx as part of Intergraph PPM's offerings, including the integration of CADWorx models and designs into the SmartPlant® Enterprise environment.

During his keynote Patrick also delivered a message from Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph PPM which stated, “Intergraph acquired COADE in early 2010 because we recognized the strength of CADWorx and the power it provides to its clients. CADWorx is a great addition to our product portfolio, well known for its superior productivity. Also, because of the benefits of allowing CADWorx data to be accessed and incorporated into our SmartPlant Enterprise world, we are currently working on delivering this powerful functionality to all our users.”

The second part of the Keynote was delivered by Tom Van Laan, P.E., senior vice president, Intergraph CADWorx & Analsysis Solutions, where he outlined the process of the January 2010 acquisition and his team's experience in working with Intergraph, and Intergraph's focused goals for the CADWorx Plant Design Suite and the group's analysis products.

The final event of the conference was the golf tournament on Wednesday afternoon held at the Woodforest Golf Club, north of The Woodlands. No hole-in-ones were recorded, but two teams tied for top place at 7-under, with the winner decided by scores on the highest handicap holes. We had a great time, the course was great, as were their attentive and professional staff.

A shout must go out to IT Exchange Group who mananged our event with wonderful attention to detail and always ensured that attendees received the best service and care. Our thanks to Dana, Vicki and their staff.

During this webinar we will demonstrate how, by using CADWorx P&ID Professional, you can get more out of your AutoCAD^®-based P&ID's. You will learn how to make your old drawings intelligent, how to generate instrument loop diagrams, using CADWorx Loops, and how to use CADWorx Internet Publisher to publish your intelligent P&ID projects, allowing drawings and linked data to be accessed and marked up from within a browser. We will cover everything from the easy creation of intelligent P&ID's to datasheet capabilities for instrumentation and equipment.

Sonia Delgadillo is a Senior CADWorx Applications Specialist for CADWorx Solutions at Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group. She joined CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group in January 2009 and is responsible for technical product demonstrations, training on CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx P&ID Professional, CADWorx fieldPipe and support to CADWorx and Analysis existing dealer channel and clients. She has five years experience teaching designers, engineers, owner operators and EPC firms.

First CAESAR II User Group - Houston Meeting a Success!

Last Thursday, November 19th, COADE gave the keynote to fifty attendees of the first COADE CAESAR II User group - Houston meeting.

David Diehl, COADE's VP Customer Experience and Richard Ay, VP Development, Plant Engineering Solutions outlined the changes in versions 5.10 and 5.20 in COADE's CAESAR II pipe stress analysis program. Both Diehl and Ay fielded questions from attendees on how to get the best from CAESAR II.

The event was organized and MC'd by Dharam Arya, PE of Mustand Engineering, Houston, Texas. Mr. Arya's ongoing aim for this user group is to encourage end-user cooperation in the development of best practices in pipe stress analysis amongst COADE CAESAR II users.

Immediate plans are to set up a steering committee for the group to plan next steps and its future direction. More on this at a later date.

This video, based on the original conference presentation, shows, in 20 minutes, how COADE's integrated plant design and plant engineering solutions improve collaboration by seamlessly passing information between various stakeholders in the design process.

World Pipelines features CADWorx FieldPipe

World Pipelines Magazine - December, 2008

Read how IMAGE Custom Engineering Solutions, LLC (IMAGE CES), Field Services division (IMAGE Field Services), based in Houston, Texas, USA, has successfully completed the as-built computer modeling of over 70 of approximately 200 gas compression stations owned by CenterPoint Energy Field Services.

What is most remarkable about this project is the speed, accuracy and ultimate ‘intelligence’ of what was produced.  IMAGE CES completed this first phase in record time using only two onsite engineers to produce fully intelligent 3D plant, piping and equipment models of each site to an accuracy of one-eighth inch.

To achieve this task this task they used CADWorx fieldPipe from COADE Inc.

“To do what we have done in six months would have taken us maybe years to do manually,” explained Don Nuckels, PE, President/CEO of IMAGE CES.
