Here’s a tip worth taking note of. Suppose you spent a lot of time putting a bunch of nozzles in a head like this:
Wait a moment. That head happens to be a 2:1 ellipsoidal head. Shucks, you just realized the head should have been a torispherical. No sweat, you go ahead and change the head to a torispherical head. Horror of horrors, all the nozzles have now disappeared. Sad to say, your head now looks like this!
Where did all those nozzles go? Do we have to spend the next three hours painstakingly putting all the nozzles back? No – we can use a little known trick available in PV Elite. This is what needs to be done before you change that head:
Go to the list dialog icon and click it – here is what it looks like:
Make sure the Nozzle tab is selected as shown. You can then see the table of all the nozzles in the vessel.
Hold down the <Shift> key, and click on the buttons 1, 2, 3, etc., on the left side as shown by the arrow to select all of the nozzles:
Press <Ctrl> + <c>, or in other words, while holding down the <Ctrl> key, press the <c> key. That will send all the nozzles to the clipboard where they can be retrieved later.
Now change your head from ellipsoidal to torispherical, or vice versa as the case may be. This is the point where all the nozzles are lost – but we can get them back.
Click on the list dialog icon as shown in step (1) above. When the list dialog screen opens, click on the ‘click here to add a row’ button. A new row is added at the end of the table.
Place your mouse cursor in the newly formed empty row, and press <Ctrl> + <v>:
If you have followed the instructions exactly as given, all the nozzles should now be restored.
