A 3D model is a beautiful thing but all drawings are eventually 2D. Models can become extremely complex with multiple XREF associations and complex file/folder structures. Protecting the model integrity has also become a critical function. With the need to transmit drawings electronically and the need to secure the model, 2D Rep has become the tool to generate a 2D representation of any project. A 2D representation of the model can be transmitted easily without fear of compromising the associated data.

Speaker bio:
Lee Smith is a lead project designer for the John Zink Company. Lee's responsibilities include coordinating teams for designing skid mounted vapor recovery units for both domestic and foreign clients and assisting in project management roles. A graduate of Oklahoma State University Tech, Lee has 30 plus years experience in the gas processing and transmission, oil refining, and chemical plant industries. Lee has gone from the drafting board to 3D CAD design and from field construction to the corporate office working with many of the leading companies of the industry. Lee has been married for 32 years and has 2 daughters and 9 grandchildren.
